HELEN ELLISON, LEE MILNER AND JACQUELINE PAESANO-WOOD
Faces and Form in Pastels
Jacqueline Paesano Wood, Lee Milner and Helen Ellison are portrait and figurative artists who are inspired by the physical form and portray people of all ages and from all walks of life. Having travelled widely, much of their work depicts a myriad of nationalities, providing them with endless scope in interpreting the light and colour that is reflected in all skin types. Therefore, their work gives a sense of the wide diversity in humans and the human essence and energy that connects us all.

UNDER THE FIELDS OF HEATON
On the morning of 3rd May 1815, 75 men and boys lost their lives in Heaton Main Colliery. Because of the severity of the flooding the final bodies were not recovered until 6th March 1816.
This exhibition of art work and creative writing by local primary schools commemorates the bi-centenary of the disaster.

Bernadette Koranteng presents her collection of drawings made in collaboration with contemporary dance group the Eliot Smith Company. These mixed-media pieces are worked from numerous on-the-spot quick sketches done over several months. The artist's intention is to convey not only the energy, movement and physicality of the dancers but also the emotional content of their work. The ESC will put on a special performance of a new work by Maggie Boogaart : 'Space' at the Preview, 6pm May 9th
